Program Overview

With human resources becoming an increasingly strategic function of many organizations, human resource professionals need the skills required to work effectively in a continually changing environment. The goal of the B.S. in Human Resource Management program is to provide individuals with the human resource and management skills required to work effectively at a professional level in a continually changing human resource environment. The programs focus is on the development of individual skill sets at the operational level to prepare students for administrative, specialist, and generalist human resource functions and positions with an emphasis on becoming a valued partner within the organization.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has acknowledged that Saint Mary's B.S. in Human Resource Management program fully aligns with SHRMs Human Resources Curriculum Guidebook and Templates.

We recognize that success often depends on your personal and professional schedule. That is why we have both online and On-Campus program options from which to choose. For those who enjoy the classroom, and the ability to create in-person collaboration, we offer a fully On-Campus experience. If you prefer taking some courses On-Campus and others online, we offer a blended experience. Finally, if your choice is to take your courses online, you have that option as well.

Completing a B.S. in Human Resource Management degree is closer than you think. Saint Mary's University of Minnesota recognizes your past experiences with a generous transfer credit policy. We accept college-level credits from regionally accredited colleges or universities (grades of C or better), business and industry training, non-regionally accredited vocational or technical colleges or institutes, military education (ACE), and standardized examinations (CLEP, DSST). Earn credit for your life and work experience through our prior learning assessment (PLA) process. Submit your unofficial transcripts or a degree audit report and a transfer counselor will create a preliminary degree plan for you with a transfer of credit estimate. You'll finish your degree studying employee management and engagement, labor relations, and strategic management, as well as critical thinking, leadership and ethics.

  1. Completed application form
  2. Nonrefundable application fee
  3. Official transcripts issued to Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota from all previous institutions attended with a minimum of 30 semester credits (C or better)
  4. 3 credits completed in a college level English Composition course
  5. International transcripts must be evaluated by a university-accepted evaluator.
