Program Overview

The challenges and responsibilities of the modern police officer have undergone tremendous changes. Today's public safety and private security officials must be prepared to meet the needs and expectations of an ever-changing, complex, and diverse society. The B.S. in Police Science program at Saint Mary's prepares individuals to better meet these challenges. Together with other working professionals, students study the management, leadership, communication skills, and tools necessary to respond to societal needs.

Courses are taught by experts in the criminal justice field. Offered at our Minneapolis campus, this program is designed with working, adult learners in mind, with classes available evenings.

Completing a B.S. in Police Science degree is closer than you think. Saint Mary's University of Minnesota recognizes your past experiences with a generous transfer credit policy. We accept Minnesota POST and military training, college-level credits from regionally accredited colleges or universities (grades of C or better), business and industry training, non-regionally accredited vocational or technical colleges or institutes, military education (ACE), and standardized examinations (CLEP, DSST). Earn credit for your life and work experience through our prior learning assessment (PLA) process. Submit your unofficial transcripts or a degree audit report and a transfer counselor will create a preliminary degree plan for you with a transfer of credit estimate. Contact the bachelor's completion admission staff today to get started.
